Online Course Website

A WordPress course site where students buy, learn, take quizzes and earn certificates without you sending files by hand.

Selling a course through file links and email threads leaves students lost and you answering the same questions. Online Course Website gives your training a proper home on WordPress. We load up to three courses with lessons, quizzes and certificates, connect one-time or subscription checkout, and give each student a dashboard that tracks progress and sends reminders.

  • Up to three courses and 40 lessons loaded from your material
  • Quizzes and certificates students earn as they finish
  • One-time or subscription checkout through Stripe or PayPal

What it is

Online Course Website is a WordPress site of up to 6 pages with a learning platform plugin set up for up to 3 courses and 40 lessons from your material. It includes quizzes, certificates, sales pages with Stripe or PayPal checkout, a student dashboard with progress tracking, welcome and reminder emails, and a written admin guide.

Why businesses buy it

Coaches, trainers and schools often have strong material but a weak way to deliver it. Students pay in one place, watch videos in another and email you to ask what comes next. A course site puts buying, learning and progress together. We load your lessons, quizzes and certificates into a learning platform plugin, then connect checkout and emails. Enrolment, payment, lessons, quizzes and certificates are all tested before launch. You own the site and the accounts behind it, and a written admin guide shows your team how to add lessons and manage students.

Problems this solves

Students get lost between payment links, video links and emails

Courses, lessons and checkout live on one WordPress site. Each student gets a dashboard showing what they have finished and what comes next.

Marking quizzes and sending certificates by hand takes hours

Quizzes and certificates are set up in the learning platform and tested before launch. Certificates follow the completion rules you choose.

Students drop off halfway through a course

Welcome and reminder emails go out through one email tool, and progress tracking shows where students stop. You can see who needs a nudge.

Selling the course means chasing payments manually

Sales pages connect to Stripe or PayPal for one-time payments or subscriptions. Enrolment and payment are tested before launch, so new students get access straight away.

A good fit if

You coach, train or teach, and your course videos, files and quiz questions are ready.
You plan up to three courses with up to 40 lessons between them.
You want students to pay once or by subscription and learn at their own pace.
You want quizzes, certificates and progress tracking without building them yourself.

Not the right fit if

You sell tiered access to articles and downloads rather than structured lessons. See Membership Website.
You teach mostly through live sessions that students book by time slot. See Booking Website.
You only need one sales page for a course hosted elsewhere. See WordPress Landing Page.
You want your own learning app with custom screens and features. See Web App MVP Build.

How it works

  1. At intake we agree your course structure, prices, payment model, video hosting and email tool, and check your labelled folders of material.
  2. We design the home page, course sales pages and student dashboard, within up to six standard pages, and send them for review.
  3. The learning platform plugin is set up, and up to three courses and 40 lessons are loaded with your videos, files and quiz questions.
  4. Certificates are configured, checkout is connected through Stripe or PayPal, and welcome and reminder emails run through one email tool.
  5. We test enrolment, payment, lessons, quizzes and certificates, connect analytics and Search Console, and make two rounds of revisions.
  6. The site goes live, your team gets a written course admin guide, and 30 days of post-launch support starts.

What you provide within 72 hours

Your portal lists these the moment you order. Delivery starts the working day after everything is in and your access is checked.

  • Hosting and domain access by invite or a key you control, or approval to set them up in your name.
  • Course videos, files and quiz questions, sorted into labelled folders.
  • Stripe or PayPal access and video hosting access, each shared by invite.
  • Your logo, brand colors and photos.
  • One person who approves the design and content.
The 72-hour rule. Send everything on your checklist, including access, within 72 hours of ordering so your build starts on time.

What you receive at handover

  • A WordPress site with up to six standard pages and a sales page for each course
  • A learning platform plugin with up to three courses and 40 lessons loaded
  • Quizzes, certificates, a student dashboard and progress tracking
  • Checkout through Stripe or PayPal, plus welcome and reminder emails
  • Analytics and Search Console connected
  • A written course admin guide and 30 days of post-launch support

Expected benefits and how to measure them

  • Gives students one place to buy, learn and track progress
  • Can cut the hours spent on enrolment and certificates
  • Helps more students reach the end of a course
Enrolments
Count new enrolments per course each month in the learning plugin.
Completion rate
Divide students who completed a course by students enrolled in it, each month.
Course revenue
Read payments by course in Stripe or PayPal each month after launch.

Before you start: Note how many students you enrol each month today, how you deliver lessons and how many finish a course.

These are things to track, not promised results. Outcomes depend on your data, your team and your market.

Running costs

The build is a one-time payment. After launch, expect ~$25–80/month for WordPress hosting, a course plugin licence and video hosting, plus payment fees, billed by each provider. Your domain is billed by your registrar. Every account, including the payment and video accounts, stays in your name.

Keep it running

A course site holds student accounts and takes payments, so it needs regular care. After the support period, webcare24, our WordPress care brand, handles updates, backups, security and fixes for the site and its learning plugin. There is no Upmark maintenance fee. Your team adds lessons and manages students day to day.

Questions about this product

Can students pay for my online course monthly instead of once?

Yes. Each course can be sold by one-time payment or by subscription, through Stripe or PayPal in your name. You choose the model at intake, and we run test enrolments and payments before launch. Payment fees are set and billed by the provider. You can change course prices yourself later in the admin.

Which learning plugin will my course site use?

Usually LearnDash or Tutor LMS, chosen with you at intake based on how you sell and teach. Both handle lessons, quizzes, certificates and progress tracking on WordPress. The plugin licence is bought in your name and billed by its maker, so the courses do not depend on us once the site is live.

Where are the course videos stored?

On a video hosting service such as Vimeo, in an account you own. Lessons embed the videos, so the files do not sit on your WordPress hosting. You give us access by invite, and video hosting fees are billed to you by the provider. We do not film or edit videos, so they need to be ready before work starts.

Do you write course lessons or quiz questions?

No. You supply course videos, files and quiz questions in labelled folders, and we load them into the learning platform. We set up lesson order, quizzes and certificates, but writing, filming or editing course material is outside this build. Sending the material within 72 hours of ordering keeps the delivery date on track.

Can I move my students from another course platform?

Not in this package. Moving students along with their progress and subscriptions is quoted separately through a Change Quote, because each platform exports data differently. Note your student count at checkout. A simple alternative is to give existing students free enrolment on the new site, and the admin guide shows how to do that.

How is an online course website different from a membership website?

A course site teaches in order. Students move through lessons, take quizzes, earn certificates and see their progress. A membership site sells tiered access to content such as articles and downloads. If your members browse content rather than complete courses, Membership Website is the better fit. If you teach step by step, choose this build.

Do students get certificates when they finish a course?

Yes. A certificate is set up for each course and issued when a student completes it, based on rules you choose at intake, such as passing the final quiz. We test quizzes and certificates before launch, along with enrolment, payments and lessons, so the first real student sees each step working.

Who looks after the course website once students are enrolled?

We support the site for 30 days after launch. After that, webcare24, our WordPress care brand, handles updates, backups, security and fixes, which matter on a site that holds student accounts. There is no Upmark maintenance fee. Your team adds lessons and manages students using the written course admin guide.
