Website & Marketing Add-ons

Retargeting Setup

A retargeting campaign that reminds recent visitors about you, without following them around the internet for months.

Most people visit a website once and leave without acting, even when they are interested. Retargeting Setup reminds them. We build audiences from recent visitors, create one retargeting campaign with up to four ads, and set caps and exclusions so buyers stop seeing them. It is offered with Ads Launch, Ads Management and Shopping Ads Launch, on the same platform.

  • Audiences built from visitors who showed real interest
  • One retargeting campaign with up to four ads
  • Frequency caps and exclusions set to keep reminders welcome

What it is

Retargeting Setup is an add-on that builds one retargeting campaign on the ad platform in your package. We create audiences from your website visitors, write up to four ad variations for people who already know you, and set frequency and exclusion rules. It is offered with Ads Launch, Ads Management and Shopping Ads Launch.

Why businesses buy it

People rarely buy on their first visit. They compare, get distracted or wait for a better moment. Retargeting puts a short, relevant reminder in front of them while the interest is fresh. Done badly, it follows people for weeks and keeps showing ads to customers who already bought. This setup builds focused audiences, writes ads for people who already know you and sets limits from the start. It uses the tracking from your ads package. Results still depend on your offer and traffic.

Problems this solves

Website visitors leave and never hear from you again

We build audiences from your website visitors through Google Tag Manager or the Meta pixel. One retargeting campaign then shows ads to people who have already looked at your site.

Generic ads ignore that visitors already know your business

We write up to 4 ad variations for warm audiences. They speak to people who have already shown interest, rather than introducing your business all over again.

Retargeting ads follow people around and start to annoy them

Frequency settings limit how often someone sees your ads. Exclusion rules stop ads showing to the wrong people, such as recent buyers, so the campaign feels helpful.

A good fit if

You are buying Ads Launch, Ads Management or Shopping Ads Launch.
Your website gets steady traffic, but most visitors leave without buying or getting in touch.
Tracking is already on your website, or is being set up as part of your package.
You have an offer or reason for returning visitors to come back, such as a guide, a demo or free delivery.

Not the right fit if

You want retargeting on a second platform as well. Add a note at checkout for a Change Quote.
You want the retargeting campaign managed and refreshed every week. See Ads Management.
You need help with cookie consent or privacy law. That needs a privacy adviser, not this add-on.
You want to win back past customers by email instead of ads. See Email Flows Build.

How it works

  1. You share your offer for returning visitors and give us access to the ad account and your Tag Manager or pixel.
  2. We check that your website tracking records the visits and actions retargeting needs.
  3. We build audiences from recent site visitors, such as people who viewed products or pricing but did not convert.
  4. We build one retargeting campaign and write up to four ad variations for people who already know you.
  5. We set frequency caps and exclusions, so buyers and recent customers stop seeing the ads, then launch with your approval.

What you provide within 72 hours

Your portal lists these the moment you order. Delivery starts the working day after everything is in and your access is checked.

  • Admin access to your ad account by invite.
  • Website or Google Tag Manager access by invite.
  • Your offer or message for returning visitors.
  • One person who approves the ads before launch.
The 72-hour rule. Send everything on your checklist, including access, within 72 hours of ordering so your build starts on time.

What you receive at handover

  • Website visitor audiences built in your ad account
  • One retargeting campaign built and launched
  • Up to 4 ad variations written
  • Frequency and exclusion settings
  • Launch notes (ongoing management is not included)

Expected benefits and how to measure them

  • Helps you stay in front of people who already showed interest.
  • Sensible frequency limits can keep the ads useful rather than irritating.
Retargeting conversions
Track conversions from the retargeting campaign in your ad platform each month after launch.
Cost per conversion
Compare the retargeting campaign's figure with your existing campaigns in the same ad platform report.
Returning visitor conversions
Compare Google Analytics conversions from returning visitors for the months before and after launch.

Before you start: Before launch, record monthly website visitors and conversions. Note cost per conversion for your current campaigns.

These are things to track, not promised results. Outcomes depend on your data, your team and your market.

Running costs

Your ad budget for the retargeting campaign is paid directly to the ad platform from your own account. Retargeting budgets are usually small, because the audiences are small. We never handle your ad spend.

Custom requirements

Add a note at checkout if you need something specific. If it fits within the Scope Card it is simply included. If it goes beyond it, you get a written Change Quote within two working days, and that work starts only once you accept it, with its time added to your delivery date.

Keep it running

This is a one-time setup, so the audiences, campaign and launch notes are yours from launch day. Retargeting ads tire quickly, because the same people see them often. Ads Management can keep the campaign fresh with weekly care and new ad variations, or you can run it yourself using the launch notes.

Audiences Everyone who visited, lumped together Agreed in a strategy phase Built from visitors who showed interest but did not convert

Questions about this product

Which packages can Retargeting Setup be added to?

Ads Launch, Ads Management and Shopping Ads Launch. The retargeting campaign is built on the same ad platform as your package, using the tracking that package sets up or checks. It is not sold on its own, because it depends on that tracking and ad account being in place.

How much website traffic does retargeting need?

Enough for the audience to reach the platform's minimum size. Google and Meta both need a certain number of recent visitors before they show ads to an audience. If your traffic is low, the campaign may take a while to start delivering. We check your numbers during setup and tell you plainly if it is too early.

Will retargeting ads annoy my website visitors?

Not if they are set up with care, which is why we set frequency caps and exclusions. Caps limit how often one person sees the ads, and exclusions stop them once someone buys or becomes a customer. Audiences also expire after a set number of days, so nobody is followed for months.

Is retargeting allowed under privacy rules?

Retargeting relies on cookies or similar tracking, so it must follow your visitors' consent choices where the law requires it. We make sure the campaign uses tracking that respects your consent setup, but we do not give legal advice or set up consent banners. A privacy adviser can confirm what your business needs.

Can retargeting guarantee more sales from returning visitors?

No. We cannot promise sales, because people return or buy for their own reasons. Retargeting gives interested visitors a timely reminder and a reason to come back. Results depend on your offer, prices and how strong the original interest was. The launch notes explain what to watch so you can judge it.

What kind of ads do you write for the retargeting campaign?

Up to four ad variations written for people who already know you. They usually answer common doubts, remind visitors of the offer they looked at, or give a reason to act now, such as a guide or free delivery. You approve every ad before the campaign launches.

Bring interested visitors back

Add Retargeting Setup for visitor audiences, one campaign with up to four ads and sensible caps so reminders stay helpful.
