Facebook Messenger Channel Add-on

People who message your Facebook page get a prompt, approved answer from the agent you already run.

People message your Facebook page with questions about hours, bookings, orders and prices, often outside working hours. This add-on connects the agent you already run to your page's Messenger inbox. Routine messages get a prompt answer from approved knowledge, and the topics you exclude stay with your team. The page and the Meta setup remain yours.

  • Replies to Facebook page messages at any hour
  • Keeps excluded topics for your team to handle
  • Runs on your own page through your Meta setup

What it is

The Facebook Messenger Channel Add-on connects an AI agent you already run, or are buying now, to the Messenger inbox of your Facebook page. Visitors who message the page get answers from the agent's approved knowledge, and messages you exclude stay with your team. It is tested on Messenger threads before launch.

Why businesses buy it

A page that takes a day to reply looks closed, and a customer who waits usually moves on to the next business in the search results. Connecting your existing agent to Messenger gives page visitors an answer while they are still interested, without a separate bot builder to maintain. Answers match your other channels. The written scope covers Messenger for one page, leave-alone rules, testing with the parent product and one revision round, so you know exactly what changes before you order.

Problems this solves

Messages to your Facebook page wait days for a response

The add-on connects your existing agent to your page's Messenger inbox. People who message the page get answers from the agent's approved knowledge without a long wait.

Page managers answer opening hours and pricing questions again and again

The agent handles routine Messenger questions using the same knowledge it uses elsewhere. Page managers can focus on posts, events and the conversations that need them.

Some Messenger conversations should always stay with your team

You choose which messages to exclude, and those stay with your team. The setup is tested on Messenger threads before launch, alongside the parent product.

A good fit if

Your Facebook page gets questions through Messenger about hours, prices, availability or orders.
Page messages sit unanswered outside working hours.
Your agent already handles those questions on your website, phone or WhatsApp.
Someone on your team has admin rights to the page in your Meta business setup.

Not the right fit if

Most of your messages come through Instagram. The Instagram DM Channel Add-on connects that inbox.
You want your page's posts drafted and scheduled, not its messages answered. AI Social Media Agent drafts, schedules and reports on posts.
You want customers to message you on WhatsApp. The WhatsApp Channel Add-on uses your WhatsApp Business account.
Your product is not a conversational agent. Messenger only fits voice, messaging, chat and action agents.

How it works

  1. We connect your Facebook page. A page admin grants Messenger access through your Meta business setup.
  2. Page messages go to the agent. Each Messenger conversation is passed to the agent you already run.
  3. The agent answers from what you approved, with the same handoff rules it uses elsewhere.
  4. Excluded topics wait for your team, untouched in the page inbox.
  5. We test Messenger conversations with the parent product, share the report, and make one round of revisions.

What you provide within 72 hours

Your portal lists these the moment you order. Delivery starts the working day after everything is in and your access is checked.

  • The order reference of the agent being connected
  • Admin access to the Facebook page and its Meta business setup
  • Topics the agent should never answer on Messenger
  • Page access, shared securely in the way we agree at intake, never by email
  • One decision-maker for sign-off
The 72-hour rule. Send everything on your checklist, including access, within 72 hours of ordering so your build starts on time.

What you receive at handover

  • Your existing agent connected to your Facebook page's Messenger inbox
  • Exclusion rules for messages that stay with your team
  • A test report from testing on Messenger threads with the parent product
  • Updated documentation, a handoff note and a short written walkthrough
  • 14 days of support

Expected benefits and how to measure them

  • Can help page visitors get answers faster.
  • Helps page managers spend less time on routine messages.
Messenger response time
Compare response time shown in Meta Business Suite for the month before and after launch.
Messages resolved by the agent
Count Messenger threads closed without a person, from the agent's logs, each week after launch.
Enquiries from Messenger
Track leads or bookings that began in Messenger, logged in your CRM, before and after launch.

Before you start: Note weekly Messenger volume and current response time in Meta Business Suite. Record which message types your team wants to keep.

These are things to track, not promised results. Outcomes depend on your data, your team and your market.

Running costs

Messenger itself is part of your Facebook page. The extra cost is AI model usage for each conversation, billed to your own model accounts. Upmark Labs charges once for the add-on and nothing per message.

Custom requirements

Several Facebook pages, Messenger ads flows or replies to page comments are outside this add-on. Note them at checkout and you get a written Change Quote, with work starting only once you accept. Larger or bespoke projects go through the Custom AI request form instead.

Keep it running

Messenger falls under the parent product's maintenance, which grows in line with the add-on's price. Answer updates and new exclusions use its monthly change hours.

Adds $75/mo to maintenance

Covered by the main product's maintenance, which grows by this amount.

Questions about this product

Can one add-on cover several Facebook pages?

No. One Facebook Messenger Channel Add-on connects one page. If you run separate pages for different locations or brands, each extra page is quoted as a Change Quote, or the Multi-Location Setup and Multi-Brand Setup add-ons may suit the wider setup better.

Who needs to give access to the Facebook page?

A page admin in your Meta business setup. They grant the Messenger access during intake, within the 72-hour deadline that applies to every order. Access is shared securely in the way we agree, never by email, and you can remove it at any time from the page settings once the build is done.

Will the agent answer comments on my Facebook posts?

No. This add-on answers Messenger conversations only. Public comments on posts are outside its scope, because they are seen by everyone and usually need a person's judgment. If you still want them handled, add a note at checkout and a written Change Quote follows.

Does the Messenger channel follow the speed of the product it extends?

Yes. The add-on is tested together with its parent product, so it always takes that product's delivery speed. If you need Messenger live sooner, choose Express or Rush for the product. Each speed has a fixed price and date shown before you pay. Page admin access must be in place during intake to keep the date.

Can my team take over a Messenger conversation?

Yes. Your team keeps the page inbox and can reply in any thread whenever they choose. Topics you excluded are left for them untouched, and if the parent agent has live handoff, Messenger follows the same handoff rules, passing the conversation across rather than asking the customer to start again.

Does the Messenger channel need its own knowledge base?

No. It uses the knowledge the parent agent already has, so there is nothing new to write for Messenger. If your page gets questions the agent cannot answer because the source is missing, the Knowledge Base Expansion add-on adds and indexes those extra sources for every channel at once.

Answer your Facebook page messages while the customer is still there.

Add the Facebook Messenger Channel Add-on and your agent replies to page messages from approved knowledge, with excluded topics left for your team.
