Workflow Automation

Zapier or Make to n8n Migration

Your Zapier or Make workflows rebuilt in n8n, tested side by side with the originals and switched over with alerts.

Automation bills can creep up as task counts grow. Zapier or Make to n8n Migration moves up to ten of your workflows to n8n Cloud or your own server. We start with an inventory and a cost comparison, then rebuild each workflow with error paths and failure alerts. Old and new run side by side for a week before cutover, so nothing is missed.

  • Inventory with a move-or-keep call and a cost comparison
  • Up to ten workflows rebuilt in n8n with failure alerts
  • A 7-day parallel run before each cutover

What it is

Zapier or Make to n8n Migration is a one-time service that moves up to ten existing workflows to n8n. We inventory what you run and compare costs before and after. Then we rebuild each workflow with error paths and alerts. Old and new run in parallel before we switch over and hand over a runbook.

Why businesses buy it

Many teams start on Zapier or Make and later find their monthly bill rising with every new task. n8n can cost less at higher volumes, but rebuilding workflows yourself is slow and risky. A missed step can mean lost leads or orders. This migration starts by checking which workflows are worth moving, using a before-and-after cost comparison. Each rebuilt workflow then runs alongside the original for a week, so differences show up before anything is switched off. Every workflow gets failure alerts, which many original setups never had.

Problems this solves

Your Zapier or Make bill keeps rising with every task

A workflow inventory and a before-and-after cost comparison show whether moving to n8n pays off for you. Each workflow gets a move-or-keep call before anything is rebuilt.

Switching platforms risks breaking workflows the business relies on

Each rebuilt workflow runs side by side with the original for a week. Outputs are compared, and your approver signs off before the original is switched off.

Failed automations go unnoticed for days

Every rebuilt workflow in n8n gets error paths and failure alerts. A runbook shows your team where the alerts arrive and what to check first when one fires.

A good fit if

You run between five and fifteen Zapier or Make workflows, and the bill keeps rising.
Your workflows are mostly up to 12 steps and use standard app connections.
You are happy to use n8n Cloud or already have a server you control.
One person can approve each cutover once the parallel run looks right.

Not the right fit if

You want new automations built, not existing ones moved. See AI Zapier and Make Workflow Build.
You need ongoing builds and monitoring every month. See Automation Care and Build Plan.
You need one complex workflow designed from scratch. See AI Multi-Step Workflow Automation.
You only need your new Upmark product linked to Zapier or Make. See Zapier or Make Connector.

How it works

  1. You invite us to Zapier or Make and each connected app, and choose n8n Cloud or a server you control.
  2. We inventory your workflows, recommend which to move or keep, and compare running costs before and after.
  3. We rebuild up to ten workflows in n8n, adding error paths and failure alerts to each one.
  4. Each rebuilt workflow runs side by side with the original for a week, and we compare the results.
  5. Once your approver signs off, we cut over and switch the original off.
  6. You get a runbook for your team, with post-launch fixes if anything needs adjusting.

  • A list of the workflows that matter most to the business.
  • One person who approves each cutover.
The 72-hour rule. Send everything on your checklist, including access, within 72 hours of ordering so your build starts on time.

What you receive at handover

  • A workflow inventory with a move-or-keep recommendation
  • A before-and-after cost comparison
  • Up to ten workflows rebuilt in n8n with error paths and failure alerts
  • A parallel run and cutover for each workflow
  • A runbook for your team
  • Post-launch fixes for the rebuilt workflows

Expected benefits and how to measure them

  • Can lower your monthly automation platform costs
  • Helps catch failed workflows sooner with alerts
  • Gives your team a runbook for the workflows they depend on
Monthly automation platform cost
Compare your Zapier or Make invoices before migration with your n8n plan or server invoices after cutover.
Workflow failures noticed
Count failure alerts in n8n each month and compare with failures you found by chance before.
Output match during parallel run
Check the parallel run comparison for each workflow and note any differences fixed before cutover.

Before you start: Before migration, save your last three Zapier or Make invoices and task counts. Note any workflow failures from the last quarter.

These are things to track, not promised results. Outcomes depend on your data, your team and your market.

Running costs

After migration, you pay for an n8n Cloud plan or a small server, billed by n8n or your hosting provider. You can cancel or downgrade Zapier or Make once cutover is complete. The cost comparison shows both sides before you commit to moving.

Keep it running

The rebuilt workflows run in your own n8n account or server. You keep the inventory, cost comparison and runbook. We fix issues during the 30 days of post-launch support. After that, optional Upmark maintenance covers monitoring, fixes, n8n updates, a monthly health report and a few change hours. For new builds each month, see Automation Care and Build Plan.

$199/mo (the minimum fee, includes 2 change hours)

Optional. Starts after the post-launch support period. Cancel any month.

Questions about this product

Will moving from Zapier or Make to n8n actually save us money?

Often, but not always. It depends on your task volume and your n8n plan or server. That is why the migration starts with a before-and-after cost comparison. If the numbers do not favor moving, the inventory says so, and some workflows may be marked keep rather than move.

Should we use n8n Cloud or host n8n on our own server?

n8n Cloud is simpler, because n8n handles hosting, updates and backups. Self-hosting can cost less at high volumes but needs someone to look after the server. This migration works with either, but setting up a new self-hosted server is not included. If you choose self-hosting, the server must already be running.

How does the parallel run work before cutover?

Each rebuilt n8n workflow runs alongside the original Zapier or Make version for a week. We compare outputs, such as records created or messages sent, to check they match. Any difference is fixed before switching. Your approver then signs off, and the original is turned off.

Can you migrate workflows that use custom code or more than 12 steps?

Not within this fixed scope. Workflows over 12 steps or with custom code need more design and testing. If you have some, list them at checkout. We send a written Change Quote. Or we mark them keep, so they stay where they are.

What if some of our existing workflows are already broken?

We rebuild workflows as they are meant to work today, not redesign broken logic. If the inventory finds a workflow that is already failing or doing the wrong thing, we flag it. Fixing that logic is quoted separately through a Change Quote, so you decide whether it is worth it.

Do we lose any data or runs during the n8n migration?

The parallel run is designed to prevent that. Originals keep running until each n8n version is proven and approved, so live work is not interrupted. Past run history stays in Zapier or Make and is not copied into n8n. Export it before closing your old account if you need a record.

Who looks after the n8n workflows after migration?

Your team, using the runbook, with our help during the 30 days of post-launch fixes. After that, optional Upmark maintenance covers monitoring, fixes, updates, a monthly health report and a few change hours. If you also want new workflows every month, Automation Care and Build Plan covers both.

Move to n8n without missing a step

Order the Zapier or Make to n8n Migration to rebuild up to ten workflows with alerts. Each one is proven side by side before the switch.
