Slack or Teams Channel Add-on

Your team can ask the agent questions inside Slack or Microsoft Teams, where they already work.

Your team keeps asking the same internal questions about policies, processes and where things live, and the answers sit in documents nobody opens. This add-on makes the agent you already run available inside Slack or Microsoft Teams, in the channels you approve or by direct message. Staff get answers where they already work, and your admin controls the install.

  • Answers staff questions inside Slack or Microsoft Teams
  • Listens only in the channels you approve
  • Uses the knowledge your agent already trusts

What it is

The Slack or Teams Channel Add-on makes an AI agent you already run, or are buying now, available inside Slack or Microsoft Teams. Staff message it in approved channels or directly, and it answers from the knowledge and rules it already has. You choose one of the two platforms. Your admin approves the install.

Why businesses buy it

Every internal question that goes to a colleague interrupts two people, and the most experienced staff get interrupted the most. Putting your existing agent inside Slack or Teams lets people find answers without leaving the tool they use all day. It reuses approved knowledge, so answers stay consistent. The scope is clear before you buy: one platform, approved channels, testing with real questions in your workspace and one revision round. Your admin approves the install, so access stays under your control.

Problems this solves

Staff ignore the agent because it lives in yet another tool

The add-on makes your existing agent available inside Slack or Microsoft Teams. Staff message it where they already spend their day, in approved channels or by direct message.

Internal questions flood team channels and interrupt busy colleagues

Staff can ask the agent first, and it answers from the knowledge and rules it already has. Colleagues get fewer routine questions in shared channels.

IT is wary of unapproved bots joining the workspace

You choose one of the two platforms, and your admin approves the install. The agent only works in the channels you approve, and it is tested with the parent product.

A good fit if

Your team keeps asking the same internal questions in Slack or Teams.
You already run an internal agent, such as an HR, policy or helpdesk assistant, that staff have to open separately.
A workspace or tenant admin can install an app for you.
You want answers to come from approved sources, not from whoever replies first.

Not the right fit if

You want a dedicated Slack bot with its own actions, built from scratch. AI Slack Bot is that product.
You want the same for Microsoft Teams. AI Microsoft Teams Bot is built for Teams from the start.
You need both Slack and Teams. One add-on covers one platform, so you would buy it twice or quote the second through a Change Quote.
Your agent faces customers, not staff. A customer channel such as the Web Chat Channel Add-on is the better fit.

How it works

  1. You pick Slack or Teams. One platform per add-on.
  2. Your admin installs the app. A Slack workspace admin or Teams tenant admin approves it.
  3. Channels are agreed. The agent listens only in the channels you approve, plus direct messages if you want them.
  4. Questions get answers from approved knowledge, in the thread where they were asked.
  5. We test it with the parent product inside your workspace, then you review the results with one revision round.

What you provide within 72 hours

Your portal lists these the moment you order. Delivery starts the working day after everything is in and your access is checked.

  • The order reference of the agent being added
  • Which platform: Slack or Microsoft Teams
  • A workspace admin (Slack) or tenant admin (Teams) to install the app
  • The channels the agent may read and answer in
  • One person who signs off the test results
The 72-hour rule. Send everything on your checklist, including access, within 72 hours of ordering so your build starts on time.

What you receive at handover

  • Your existing agent available in Slack or Microsoft Teams (one platform)
  • Access set up for approved channels and direct messages, installed with your admin's approval
  • A test report from testing with the parent product
  • Updated documentation, a handoff note and a short written walkthrough
  • 14 days of support

Expected benefits and how to measure them

  • Can make the agent part of everyday work for staff.
  • Helps reduce routine questions in busy team channels.
Weekly active users
Count staff who message the agent each week, from its logs, for the first two months after launch.
Questions asked in Slack or Teams
Compare questions the agent receives per week before the add-on and after, from its usage logs.
Routine questions in team channels
Sample a busy channel for a week before launch and a week after, counting questions the agent could answer.

Before you start: Record how many staff use the agent today and how often. Note which channels see the most repeat questions.

These are things to track, not promised results. Outcomes depend on your data, your team and your market.

Running costs

Your Slack or Microsoft 365 plan is paid to that provider as now. Staff questions add AI model usage, billed to your own model accounts. We charge nothing per question, and the add-on is a single payment.

Custom requirements

Want the agent to run actions from Slack or Teams, post scheduled updates, or work across both platforms? Add a note at checkout. A written Change Quote follows, and extra work starts only once accepted. Larger or bespoke projects go through the Custom AI request form instead.

Keep it running

The Slack or Teams channel is covered by the parent product's maintenance, which grows in line with the add-on's price. Adding channels or adjusting answers uses its monthly change hours.

Questions about this product

Does one add-on cover both Slack and Microsoft Teams?

No. You choose one platform per add-on. If your company uses both, buy the add-on twice or note the second platform at checkout for a Change Quote. Each platform needs its own admin approval and its own tests inside that workspace.

Will the agent read every Slack or Teams channel?

No. It reads and answers only in the channels you approve during intake, plus direct messages if you want them. Everything else stays outside its reach. Your admin can see and change those permissions in the app settings at any time.

Who installs the app in our workspace?

Your admin. On Slack that is a workspace admin; on Teams it is a tenant admin. We prepare the app and step-by-step instructions, and they approve the install. If that approval is not in place within the 72-hour intake window, delivery moves back by 3 working days for each day of delay.

Does adding Slack or Teams change the delivery date of our agent?

No. The add-on is tested alongside its parent product and follows the delivery speed you chose for it, so both go live together. Faster speeds are available for the product, with the fixed date shown before you pay. The one thing that can move the date is a delayed install approval from your workspace admin.

Is this the same as the AI Slack Bot?

No. The AI Slack Bot and AI Microsoft Teams Bot are full products built for those platforms from the start. This add-on brings an agent you already have into Slack or Teams, using its existing knowledge, so there is one agent to maintain.

Can staff ask the agent questions privately?

Yes, if you allow it. During intake you choose whether direct messages are enabled alongside the approved channels. Private questions get the same approved answers as questions asked in a channel, which suits topics people prefer not to raise in front of colleagues, such as leave or pay policy.

Answer internal questions where the questions are asked.

Add the Slack or Teams Channel Add-on and your agent answers staff in approved channels of the platform you choose, from knowledge you already trust.
